Walmart at Lufkin provided free health screening and boasts of Wellness Days ahead of time.
This absolutely free health-screening event provides an chance to learn valuable health information regarding low-cost immunizations, blood pressure, body mass index, blood glucose and more to residents.
Walmart Wellness Day comes on the heels of this company declaring it is going to be the first national pharmacy chain to supply a totally free opioid disposal solution at all pharmacy locations that allows patients to responsibly dispose of drugs in their own garbage.
“We want everyone to be fit,” Walmart pharmacist manager G.N. Galla stated. “Many people may be walking around and they don’t know if they have diabetes or high cholesterol. We would like to take preventative measures to help people.”
Throughout Wellness Days, Walmart pharmacists help an average of 50 individuals and display.
Since its first Wellness Day, Walmart has supplied over 1.7 million free screenings along with 225,000 immunizations to individuals across the country, helping customers discover existing health issues.
Galla stated there is a Wellness Day generally held every three months. The next step is set to happen from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21.

“Every customer receives a trophy,” she explained. “Today’s decoration is a set of vouchers, free merchandise and a water bottle. It has equipment to prepare one for the influenza season.”

He said that they provide flu shots and other immunizations every day by 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
