Hove & Brighton News are rather Enthusiastic about this gig

Sextile are playing in Brighton

We at Brighton & Hove News HQ are quite enthusiastic about the announcement of a concert happening at the Prince Albert about 27th January 2018. Californian (Los Angeles) based punk/EBM ring Sextile are crossing to pond to deliver their visceral live shows into the UK for the first time.

Sextile are gaining a devout following as their beginning in 2015. Living in Brooklyn, ” drummer/vocalist Melissa Scaduto and guitarist/vocalist Brady Keehn made a jump since the climate in New York became too much. In months of being in LA, both met guitarist/keyboardist Eddie Wuebben along with bassist Kenny Elkin (who has recently been substituted by Cameron Michel).

The group boldly throw convention out of this window to create and genre-bending imprint that combines the raw energy of primitive outer distance 70’s punk together with all the intricate and advanced structural elements of 80’s post-punk along with retro/modern synth-wave. Thus you are feeling elements of DAF (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft), The Buzzcocks and Alan Vega (RIP) and Martin Rev’sSuicide to mention only three.

The classical astrology meaning of a sextile is the forces involved cooperate smoothly, so they promote and inspire one another, so both sides of their sextile profit by the aspect between them. This mutual stimulation is normally very creative and compatible (Much like the band are -Ed).

Sextile’s debut album ‘A Thousand Hands’

2015 saw the guys unleash their debut album ‘A Thousand Hands’ and currently after the release of their second album ‘Albeit Living’– that is a politically charged, introspective album of impassioned observations on our planet now — Sextile made a decision to select the series onto the road for the first time in Europe and the UK through 2018.

To observe this, they have unveiled a appropriately anarchic video to accompany album track “”, directed, filmed and edited by Sextile’s very own Brady Keehn. He describes the ideas behind the footage saying:“Ripped is a youthful, yet damaging song and that I wished to convey visually. Innocence and chaos. Kind of what we’re born into.” The video was shot at The 14th Factoryart area in LA, in which Brady worked until its recent closing on 30th July.
