From the village of Arpi, Marat Karapetyan, the khachkar rock carver, is waiting to reveal his own craftwork to him. Marat is famous for his striking khachkars (cross stones) and carved people monuments, such as his work to the renovation of Noravank Monastery. For three hundred decades, khachkar carving’s ability was lost. Marat is currently currently carrying the tradition forward.
