Clashes from villages

SHOPIAN: 2 cordon-and-search operations (CASO) at Shopian villages stopped involving clashes between protesters and government forces without the contact being established with militants on Thursday.
A joint team of military (44RR), 14th battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police cordoned and searched Pinjora village of Shopian a two km from district headquarters and Wani-mohalla from the Keller field after ‘intellect inputs’ about presence of militants in these areas.
Eyewitnesses at Pinjora said that shortly after the government forces cordoned a mohalla (neighborhood) of this village, local youths hit the streets and hurled stones on government forces, who used tear smoke shells to distribute them. If no contact militants was created, the procedure was called off.
Eyewitness said that protesters hunted in Pinjora’s Raethpora area throughout the large stone-pelting houses and rip smoke.
Government forces cordoned Wani-mohalla at Keller, shortly after the Pinjora CASO ended. Police sources said that door to door searches were conducted in many houses in the village.
Local sources said that as soon as the authorities forces cordoned the village, people came out of their houses and hurled stones to the troops. They said that condition forces retaliated with canisters that were sound and tear smoke shells. This surgery was called off according to authorities.
Senior superintendent of police Shopian S A Dinkar advised Kashmir Reader which Pinjora surgery was called off with no significant results. “There were small clashes that were contained peacefully by security forces,” he said.
He added that as he had no information regarding the floor reports regarding Keller CASO. “Soon I shall find the specifics and I shall notify you accordingly,” he said.
