Flooding hit on three Cities

KUANTAN: Georgian homes in three cities in Pelangai, Bentong, were bombarded with a depth of 0.5m following torrential rain overnight.

Bentong Civil Defence Force officer Lt (PA) Mohd Zulkhairi Adek Awang said the cities were Kampung Tengah Manchis, Kampung Semerting and Kampung Hayat.

“Three households out of Kampung Semerting and Kampung Hayat were relocated at 3am after their homes were struck from the floodwaters. However, they had been permitted to return to their houses at 9.30am,” he advised Bernama here now.

A bridge in Kampung Hayat fell due to the powerful current of Sungai Semerting.

Even though the water level had dropped, Mohd Zulkhairi advised that the residents to be ready for evacuation if desire, and to keep their belongings in a secure location. — Bernama
