Lawyer: Doctor plans action

The doctor who was dragged away a United flight by Chicago Department of Aviation safety officers before this month is preparing for legal action over the incident, his lawyer told ABC News.

If asked by ABC News’ Linsey Davis in a meeting on Monday when Dr. Dao is planning legal action, attorney Thomas Demetrio said they are “getting ready.”

United told ABC News that it had offered passengers to the airplane up to $800 to give up their seats for four crew members who needed to board. No one uttered, so the airline generated a list of four names to be eliminated from the flight and also re-accommodated, each by the contract of carriage of the airline. Three of the individuals complied, and you didn’t. That’s when the police were called to eliminate the person.

United CEO Oscar Munoz apologized for the incident, and it has pledged that the organization is going to conduct a “thorough review” of the “truly horrific event.”

Dao is still receiving treatment after suffering injuries according to his lawyer.

Demetrio added that he has received hundreds of emails from passengers to their adventures on flights later picking up the Kentucky physician’s case.

Dao’s lawyer is also representing an American Airlines passenger who’s at the center of another viral video submitted to Facebook on Friday. The footage reveals an intense confrontation with also at least two passengers and a flight attendant after a woman tried to bring her stroller on board a plane.

The airline rules for passengers traveling with children say scooters ought to be assessed at the gate.

American Airlines reacted to the incident shortly after the video started to circulate on line, announcing at an announcement that the flight attendant was put to leave while the incident has been researched and that the woman and her relatives were upgraded to first class for the rest of their global trip.

“What we find on this video does not reflect our values or the way we care for our clients,” American Airlines added in its statement. “We are profoundly sorry for the pain we have caused this passenger along with her loved ones and also to any other customers impacted by the incident.”
