Persons suspected to be herdsmen have attacked two villages in Kwande local authorities area, killing two people on Sunday, April 2.

This is coming barely two weeks following a village at Ukum local government area was assaulted.

The authorities relations officer at the state, SP Moses Yamu, confirmed the attack into the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) from Makurdi on Monday.

Yamu said the suspected herdsmen murdered two villagers like a 65-year-old farmer.

Yamu said the authorities were yet to establish the purpose of the attack but said investigations were under way.

The police spokesman said that a detachment of the mobile police unit had been deployed to the area to restore normalcy.

He explained the corpses had been deposited at the NKST Hospital, Jato Aka, additionally in Kwande local authorities council of this state.

NAN recalls that herdsmen had lately assaulted Tse Achia village near Kasar from the outskirts of Zaki-Biam at Ukum local authorities council in which 3 persons were killed and houses burnt.
