ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia university’s law school is developing a legal clinic focused on military veterans.
Officials in the University of Georgia School of Law state the clinic has been funded by a donation from alumnus James Butler.
As per a school statement, Butler wished to honor his dad, who was a fighter pilot from the U.S. Navy.
The statement claims that the clinic will put a particular emphasis on veterans’ claims which have been refused or deferred by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Legislation students will staff the clinic, overseen by an expert manager.
The clinic is scheduled to begin working and will be contingent upon the University of Georgia’s campus in Athens.
